The Independent Schools' Inspectorate (ISI) is the independent inspection arm of the Independent Schools' Council, recognised by the Department of Education and Skills and monitored by Ofsted. We were inspected at both secondary (Sixth Form, Claires Court and the Senior Department of the College) and primary (Ridgeway and the Nursery, Lower School [Infants] & Junior Departments of the College) levels during the week beginning Monday 11 March 2002. The full reports are available on the ISI website, www.isinspect.org.uk, and separately on our own website, www.clairescourt.com.
The secondary report findings were not split between boys and girls.
For these, please refer to the Achievements sheet in either the Sixth Form or Claires Court sections.
The nursery, lower school and junior departments offer good quality provision for pupils between two and a half to 11 years of age. A real strength of the school is the good provision for pupils with special educational needs. All pupils are well cared for and very well prepared for the next stage of their learning.
The school's major strengths are:
We had five areas of school life that required further development; these recommendations, and our response to them, can be found on our website, alongside the original report.
Full results sheets showing our public examination performance (at A2, AS, GCSE and KS3, KS2, KS1) are available from the Registrar or School Secretary during visits. These – and much more besides – are also published in the full chronicle of our achievements, the Court Circular, our school magazine. This is published in a number of editions each year, and includes a separate results issue (usually published at Christmas).
