Maggie Philbin comes to Claires CourtToday we interviewed the famous presenter Maggie Philbin live on Radio Berkshire for BBC School Report. On Thursday the 26th of March 2009, Maggie Philbin came to Claires Court to interview and be interviewed by its pupils. Maggie came with the intention to help young children realise their dream to become journalists. Maggie, and her technician Colin, were two of the many staff from Radio Berkshire, chosen to interview Claires Court pupils, Joe S., Joe R. and Tom for the BBC school report. The most exciting part of the day for us was just before 10 O`clock when we interviewed Maggie live on air for BBC Radio Berkshire. We asked her about how she got the job where she responded that she got it by answering an ad in a newspaper. We also asked her about what variety of work she does. It was interesting to find out that she does a huge variety from the 7/7 London bombings to the latest piece of technology. Maggie has interviewed boys from ranging year groups from 7 to 10. She put them on the radio so they could feel what it feels like to be a journalist and we were lucky enough to record one of them. BBC school report is all about handing over the news to schools. We were left to our own devises to make a report representing our team. We really enjoyed being a journalist for the day and it was a huge inspiration to us all. Until next time!
