Claires Court Schools - A Unique Education

Timmy Swaps Mallet For Paintbrush For Charity

By James, Ben, Max, Freddie and Sam.

Today at Claires Court School, we have been creating some celebrity graffiti. At around thirty-five past eight today, Timmy Mallet of I'm A Celebrity and Wacaday fame, came to Claires Court School.

We asked him, along with a group of year ten students, to create some paintings, which we are calling 'Celebrity Graffiti' in various different ways. We had him making this celebrity graffiti by regular painting, painting upside down, painting blindfolded, painting with students body parts, and finally we all attempted drawing a Timmy mallet signature.

Timmy is an accomplished oil and acrylic artist, but today was a completely new experience for him.

We are planning on takings Timmys original paintings and sell them at auction, and the proceeds of which will go to the Alexander Devine Childrens Cancer Trust, the Thames Valley Air Ambulance and the Thames Valley Adventure Playground.

Alexander Devine works with young people and their familys suffering from terminal cancer. The trust does excellent work, and is currently trying to build a hospice in Maidenhead, and is part of Claires Court’s 3 for 3 charity programme.

The air ambulance is a service funded entirely by donations, and enables the NHS to airlift people with injuries in remote areas such as horse riding and rugby accidents, and can take them to hospitals with speciality units by traversing counties in seven or eight minutes, and is also part of the 3 for 3 charity programme.

The Adventure Playground is based in Maidenhead, and has special facilities that enable disabled children to enjoy playground items such as swing sets, treetop wheelchair ways and other exiting facilities and is the third charity in the 3 for 3 programme.

Timmy's son Billy currently attends Claires Court.

This project began small and has developed into a world wide success.
