The Year 7 Drama evening will be held on Wednesday 4 July from 6.00pm–7.30pm and the Year 8 (8A & 8C) evening will be on Thursday 5 July from 6.00pm–7.00pm. A letter has been sent home and your replies will assist us in ensuring there is enough seating available on the night. Refreshments will be served from 5.30pm.
One of the gallery staff, involved with our Year 10 boys when we went to the Tate Britain in January, was Veronica Seifert, who led our group through producing a series of fabulous works which had been inspired by the talk they were given. We believe that our boys' work is amongst that included in an exhibition at the Tate Modern of examples of schools' workshop outcomes — what an achievement!
The work of our A Level students is on display in the Chapel at College. Visitors will be welcome to view from Friday 29 June until Wednesday 4 July. It is open throughout the day and we would ask that visitors sign in at Reception when they arrive. The exhibition is well worth a visit.
Mr Roach would like to thank all those who participated in the Concert last night. Everyone performed well and delighted the audience. Enjoy the Summer Break and come back refreshed to prepare for Speech Day and the Concert in November. Things never stop!!
What a fantastic afternoon. So much fun and all in one place. There is no doubt that the young people (very young!) thoroughly enjoyed the inflatable assault course and wrestling as well as the snakes and reptiles! There was something for everyone and it was no surprise that the barbecue and chips sold out, and the bar did a roaring trade as did the refreshments — those ladies must have been shattered at the end of the day. All the games and attractions were well supported and the whole afternoon was a truly Olympian piece of fun. Takings on the day were up on last year, pennies and pounds are still being counted but the profit looks good and we'll let you know when all the totting up has been done!
There will be early coaches (departing at 4.30pm)
Full information has been posted home.
Until Thursday 12 July.
7.00pm–8.30pm
Full information has been emailed home — if for any reason you have not received this please ring Mrs Whetton 01628 411470 or email mjw@clairescourt.com Deadline is Monday 2 July.
11.00am–1.00pm Claires Court Dining Room
Pupils may go blazerless if they wish — so that if you are wishing to sell your son's blazer, there is time to get it dry cleaned beforehand. Please bring in to school any uniform or sports kit that you wish to sell, clearly labelled by Friday 6 July.
A print of the photo is available to view at School if you wish to see the ‘real’ thing!
A black leather shoe, last seen at a cricket match at either Station Ground or Phoenix, belonging to a Year 8 pupil — please check your son's kit bag for any extra items that may not be his.
To celebrate the successes of this year the Boat Club is organising their first annual dinner on Saturday 7 July at Maidenhead Rowing Club.
The festivities will kick off at 4:00pm with a scratch regatta which will be finished by 6:00pm and is open to all — so if you've always fancied a go at rowing why not come down and join in!
The actual dinner is a ‘Hog Roast’ style with a 7.30pm arrival and food being served at 8pm. After this there will be a guest speaker and an auction of promises.
Dress code: Henley regatta attire; chinos, blazer, dress etc (not all at the same time!)
Tickets for the dinner: £25pp, please make cheques payable to Claire's Court School Ltd, and are available from the school office.
As the School has registered with the Olympic set up, we have received 6 tickets with the relevant travel passes. These tickets will be given to whoever makes the best donation to the Sports Tours Club Fund. You can offer a donation for all 6 tickets or for a lower number. The tickets are for Wembley on July 31 where Britain play Brazil in the final game of their group stage for Women’s Football.
Departing at 12.30pm and returning for 6.30pm, boys will need to bring a packed lunch to eat prior to departure, full school uniform should be worn. The cost for this trip is £35 (Cheques payable to ‘Claires Court Schools Limited’ please) or you can pay online. Consent slips now overdue.
We are offering the opportunity for our pupils from Year 6 (September 2012) upwards to take part in an exciting sailing trip in Turkey during the October half term. This is open to the full range of abilities from beginners to advanced sailors and with only 30 places available, a ‘first come, first served’ system is being operated, so get your booking form in now.
If you think you have missed the opportunity of joining our Ski Trip next April, there may still be a chance of a place. If you would like to join the trip, ask your School Office to check whether there is a place available. Mrs Gaselee in the College Office will be able to check for them. There should still be places waiting for you!
In addition to our ever popular programme of fun7ndash;packed activities for our mini, mid and kool kidz, we are delighted to announce our kool kidz Xtra activities.
