    Our Year 2 boys recently enjoyed exploring Secret Agent Jack Stalwart's website using chromebooks in their library lesson, independently reinforcing their IT skills. Nine-year-old Secret Agent Jack defeats pirates, rescues fine art and tracks down the crown jewels as he travels around the world!

    Year 6, in their studies of ancient Greek battles and battle tactics, had been preparing for this moment since the latter part of the Autumn term. Their excitement and enthusiasm was evident as the armies of Athens and Sparta stood facing each other to fight one of the last battles of the great Peloponnesian War.

  • Claires Court Submit Plans for a New Campus

    On Friday 22 December 2017, Claires Court submitted a planning application for a new school campus at Cannon Lane, adjacent to Claires Court’s current site for Junior Boys at Ridgeway. The proposal will enable the popular and successful school to consolidate its three sites across Maidenhead into a single campus providing high-quality education and sports facilities to enhance the learning environment for pupils.

  • Academic Principal’s End of Term Message - Christmas 2017

    Imagine my surprise when the girls of Year 5 presented via Santa the postman the Christmas card you see me holding here in the picture. “To Mr Wilding” it said. I have never, ever (forgive a failing mind, by the way) ever been presented with a card like this. As I opened it up, the hairs on the back of my neck bristled, as every child in the class had written a personal message wishing Mr Wilding a Happy Christmas or similar. Mrs Helen Phipps, our amazing school secretary at College followed up helpfully: “I did ask the girls for which Mr Wilding was the card intended, but they could not answer me”. Ouch.  So whilst I am holding the said card in the picture, may I express on behalf of both Mr Wildings how grateful we are for these very kind thoughts, and my brother Hugh, in whose care the card now resides, also sends his thanks.

    Throughout the term, the headteachers and the head of nursery lead their respective weekly bulletins with their words of the week.  As a general observation, the higher up the school, the less written; all aim to give a particular insight into the age and stage of the pupils for whom they care, and so it can be no surprise that they tailor for their specific audience. Whether their message hits their expected audience is as much of a guess as mine was above. We hope so, but in the end whin knows?

    Very well done to all the boys and girls who took part in our autumn term chess tournament this week. In spite of the snow and early finish, the tournament was well attended and Mr Hogg, Head of Chess was delighted to see so many taking part in competitive chess for the first time.

  • A Nativity with a Modern Twist

    At All Saints Church, Lower Junior Boys performed the traditional Christmas story. The celebrations started with Year 2 performing their nativity, A King is Born.

    The unfolding story introduced the characters in a creative way and gave the play two time zones. The family in 2017 sitting together, whilst Mary, Joseph, Caesar, The Angel Gabriel, shepherds, Kings and other familiar characters from 2000 years ago came with colour and gifts.

  • Reception Deliver Their Letters to Santa

    Reception boys and girls went on an exciting Elf Trail through The Thicket to post their letters to Father Christmas.  The walk was made really magical by the blanket of snow covering the path.
