  • PTA Fireworks - Get Your Tickets

    The popular and exciting Fireworks Spectacular returns on Saturday 14 October, organised by the Claires Court PTA. Make sure you arrive at 5.30pm to enjoy the delicious food on offer, fun stalls and sideshows by Year 10 and Year 11 pupils and live bands.

  • Jeans for Genes 2017

    Across the school, pupils brought in £1 for the privilege of wearing jeans for the day on Friday. At Senior Boys, the senior prefects and a few Year 11's who stepped in at the last minute, presented a whole school assembly on Thursday 20 September.

  • Sweet Start to the New Year

    Celebrating Rosh HasanahIn Nursery and Year 2 this week, children celebrated the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah today. Apple dipped in honey was tasted to celebrate the start of a 'sweet' new year, and the children enjoyed trying this a lot! Places of worship were discussed and the ones they may have visited. Rania said, "My Daddy goes to the mosque to pray."

  • A Delightfully Muddy Kitchen!

    Over the summer holidays the Nursery had a lovely addition to their garden as a ‘mud kitchen’ was installed! The children have had great fun creating mud meals, stirring sand sauces, making pies and even washing up.

  • Next Stop... The Americas!

    The worldly adventure continued as Holiday Activities celebrated in the good old USA. There was a lot of patriotic red, white and blue fun including a giant game of ‘Capture the American Flag’.  Throughout the week children produced some amazing creations including the ‘hands on’ construction of an American Eagle and a giant Captain America!

  • Holiday Activities Travel to Europe

    Last week we were fortunate to experience a few sunny days as the children hopped across the pond to say “bonjour” to the sights, sounds and tastes of Europe.

    From windmill crafts, castle building and fuzzy felt beach scenes to pompom ice creams, Irish jigs and spaghetti and marshmallow Eiffel towers, we brought the best of Europe to Holiday Activities.

  • Rain Could Not Stop Play...

    Or the fun, cooking, tricks, sport, photography.... as it has been an action packed week for the children at Holiday Activities even though there was some of the wettest weather this summer.

    The girls and boys continued their travels with a journey across Asia. Their worldwide adventure took them to the home of pagodas and pandas, samurai and secret ninjas! They learnt the traditional Indian game ‘Kho Kho’, developed their origami skills creating frogs and aeroplanes and took the Secret Ninja Challenge!

    Despite the rain clouds Holiday Activities has been bursting with fun…

    Spa Salon has been a hit with beach accessories and body scrub made by the group and their giant ball has been used for lots of games and activities which is a BIG hit with the children. Thursday a new creation was added to our Cardboard City, Sydney Opera House, can you spot the likeness?

    After six years as Head Teacher of Senior Girls and the College Avenue site, Mr Paul Bevis had a wonderful send off from staff, pupils and parents on his last school day.     End of Summer Term letter from James Wilding, Academic Principal.

     I am told that our nation’s favourite poem is Rudyard Kipling’s ‘If’. In my mind, this is a celebration on reaching maturity, a coming of age for ‘grown-ups’! It’s one thing to reach the statutory age of maturity, be that 16, 18, 21 or indeed 25, but that’s no guarantee that ‘common sense’ has arrived, or that ‘shoulders are broad enough to carry the load’.
