Sixth Form decided to be contrary and raced backwards – a brave move! Photos may be found in the gallery.

A good start for the Year 5 netballers

The Year 5 netball players played in their first junior tournament at Maltman’s Green School last Saturday. The tournament consisted of six matches with five minutes each side. The girls worked very well together and demonstrated tenacity despite the more experienced opposition.

The weather conditions were not great – in fact, wet and the girls spent some of their time happily sheltering under a large purple umbrella!

Well done to the girls and thanks to the parents who cheered the team on. We look forward to their progress throughout the rest of the year.

Claires Court boys and girls cross country success

At the ISA Nationals last Friday we experienced possibly the muddiest cross country course we had ever seen, and with streams forming as a result of the recent amount of rain we’ve had, it was always going to be an interesting course for the pupils to run. And that it was - we were covered from head to foot in mud and that was just from walking the course before the races started! Our girls and boys were representing the London West region, part of a team of the top 10 runners selected to run from the regional round held at Sherfield School. There were 7 national regions being represented and, with 10 runners from each region, it was a huge race in which to compete. Despite the challenging conditions, and the rain that kept on falling throughout the day, each and every competitor ran exceptionally well showing guts and determination and, yet again, was a credit to the School.

The London West team overall took 2nd place on the day, only one point behind the North. This was a great performance and showed the strength and consistency of the team on the day. We would all like to congratulate all who took part on their efforts and achievements in the National ISA competition. Well done!

Congratulations to Ridgeway chess players

Fingers cross for the U10’s who are playing in the National Prep Schools’ finals this week-end.

Congratulations to Ridgeway chess players

The U11A and U9 chess teams from Ridgeway qualified for the English Primary Schools' Chess Association National Schools' Championship, to be held in May or June.
