Mr Spanswick's Words Autumn 12
Our penultimate week of the year has been so much fun!! Rather than have me tell you all about it, our pictures will certainly speak louder than words, and please click here to go to our gallery.
Very well done to our Science team who came 7th in the National semi-finals of the ‘Science Quiz’. After winning last week’s regional event, the team of William McMath, Will Dixon, George Watson and Samuel Ancliffe performed superbly and represented the school very well. A huge congratulations also go to our Under 9E rugby team… in over 22 years of being involved in coaching sport, never before have I heard of every player in the team scoring a hat-trick against another school. A brilliant achievement, and it should be noted that the other school performed very well too - it was a try fest!!
Outside of school, a huge ‘well done’ goes to Joel Smith and Noah Olikara. Both boys were performing for their respective choirs at performances at the weekend and I was lucky enough to be able to see them in action through a recording… they were both sensational, and clearly have bright futures in the performing arts. And talking of performing arts, our Pre-Prep Nativity today... well, it was superb, all boys having such a lovely time singing and acting confidently on stage at All Saints Church. Well done to all boys and staff who were involved in putting on this excellent show!
My final word goes to Year 6 who, as you will see from our snaps, proudly read their own Christmas stories to Reception and Year 1 boys on Thursday afternoons. It is a lovely way for both older and younger boys to bond and to learn from each other. Indeed, our Year 6 boys are wonderful role models and consistently make us proud. You can view more pictures here.
With that, I am off to join the PTA at the Christmas Fair this afternoon. Have a lovely weekend.
