Mrs Nott's Words Summer 4

Mr Spanswick is currently away from Junior Boys completing his duties as a school inspector so this has allowed me to look after the school in his absence.

The glorious weather has meant that the boys can play on the lawn during break times. The extra space is filled with several games of cricket, football and rugby. It also means that the younger boys can interact more readily with the older pupils. It was so pleasing to watch some of Year 6 boys in their roles as ‘young leaders’, teaching the game ‘duck, duck, quack’ to Reception and playing it with them. All were certainly enjoying themselves. What a thoughtful, caring group of pupils, I shall certainly miss them when they move on to their secondary schools next year.

Another bonus of my job has been to see the fantastic work being produced. Boys in Year 2 have excelled this week in their creative writing tasks. The range of vocabulary and the richness of the language they are using makes it a pleasure to read their work. There are definitely some budding authors amongst the boys who will be sharing library books with their Dads this evening at the Books and Bushcraft event.

Next week looks as if it will be even busier than this week! Please check the date’s section for all the information on forthcoming events.

Have a great weekend.

Judy Nott
