Mr Richards' Words Autumn 2
Excitement, energy and enthusiasm are words that would certainly describe the boys and their guides this last week. I see it, hear it and can sense it. New routines are beginning to be grasped and new relationships explored. I am thrilled that our older hands have warmly welcomed those who are just beginning their CCJB journey and our newest feel free to allow their characters to emerge.
It seems strange that we write of new beginnings whilst some in Year 6 are challenging themselves with examinations over the next little while whilst thinking of future pathways. Remember; stay calm and focused and just do your best boys. Good luck to you all.
Exciting, energetic and enthusiastic are also words that truly describe another group within our community. Often unnoticed, definitely committed and certainly heroic on occasions our PTA enrich our and our pupils provision and social experiences. I am very grateful for the spirited and positive can do attitude from our committee and I thought it might be an opportune moment for Mrs Notton-Brown to add a few words to enthuse, encourage and explore possible links and reach out with some further information…
“During this hectic first full week back at the school, the PTA have been working to put together our schedule of events for this academic year. Our first CCJB PTA meeting of the year will take place on the evening of Thursday 26 September in one of our local hostelries, everyone is welcome to attend and it would be great to see old and new faces alike. If you would like to attend or indeed can’t attend but would like to be updated on the meeting, please email me at ptaccjb@gmail.com. We are always looking for more support and new ideas, so if you would like to get involved please do come along or drop us an email.
Our upcoming events and dates for your diaries are:
Thursday 26 September- PTA meeting - 7.30pm
Saturday 12 October - PTA Fireworks Spectacular at Junior Boys
Friday 8 November - Disco for all Juniors at College Avenue
Saturday 16 November - Claires Court Chess Tournament at Junior Boys
Friday 13 December - Xmas market at Junior Boys
6 June 2020 - Diamond Ball - celebrating 60 years of Claires Court
The Fireworks Spectacular will take place on Saturday 12 October and tickets for the event will be available to book online via the pay portal shortly. It truly is a great night of fun for the whole family, but as always, the success of these events relies on your support, not only by attending the event but also by volunteering to help. Please can I ask that when the call for help comes out later in the month, you support us by adding your names to the rota.
Myself and Jen Macleod my Vice Chair are looking forward to meeting lots of you over the coming weeks. Should you have any questions or indeed any ideas that your think the PTA should consider please contact us at ptaccjb@gmail.com."
Have a lovely weekend and having taken on a new challenge myself I hope to ‘tweet’ a picture or two from the BBQ tonight. Follow me: @CCHeadofJB. P.S. What is a hashtag?!
