Mrs Kirby's words Lent week 2

The cold start to the week did not stop the pupils enjoying the return of the After School Activities programme. It is so lovely to hear and see all of our boys and girls exploring interests and developing skills outside of the classroom.
Still on the theme of the winter weather, Forest school has continued this term with all pupils enjoying some cold and muddy fun (and learning) out in the Thicket. In the cold winter weather, please do ensure that children have a warm coat, enough layers and clean, dry clothes to change into afterwards! They certainly need it while it is so wet and they spend as much time sitting or crawling on the ground as they do walking!
In assembly this week, Miss Dockerill hosted a joint Junior assembly and talked about dreams and goals. The children had the opportunity to reflect on things they already achieved that they are proud of and then to think about new goals, how these could be achieved and the importance of perseverance when they face obstacles along the way.
The boys in Year 5 and the girls in Year 4 had a fantastic day at Winchester Science Museum on Thursday. They started the day by exploring the Science exhibits, followed by a light workshop where they investigated the spectrum and the power of infrared light. After the essential gift shop trip, they were able to enjoy an immersive experience in the planetarium where they travelled through space exploring all the planets.
Open Morning is next Friday and we know our Year 6 pupils are looking forward to hosting our visitors as they take a tour of the schools. If you have any friends that would like to visit us, please do let them know and we can book them on.
All the best for a good weekend
