Mrs Kirby's words Lent week 5

This week has been Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week and, whilst we are always aware of the importance of mental health, having a week focusing on a specific area of life and/or the curriculum allows us to impart knowledge, skills and ways to approach and react to certain things. This year’s theme has been Growing Together.
We have seen many healthy, refreshing and insightful activities taking place including Mental Health Workshops for all; making sensory bottles; creating anger volcanoes and mindfulness. Claires Court staff were also lucky enough to join Mrs Farley (parent of Hugo and Eva) for a breathwork session which was honestly amazing! Thank you so much to Mrs Farely for this truly rejuvenating experience. The boys and girls will be lucky enough to experience this soon. Some of the teachers were also treated to a yoga session from Miss Barrow on Friday afternoon - thank you so much Miss Barrow! Forest school, sport, music and art has also continued which in themselves offers many benefits to mental health.
Each day had an emotion focus with activities to match:
Monday - Happy
Tuesday - Sadness
Wednesday - Anger
Thursday - Calm
Friday - Excited
Creating Fizzy Feelings!
The week ended with Dress to Express and the outfits have been brilliant and very individual; just what we are about!
Next week we look forward to welcoming many of you to our face to face or online Parents’ Evening meetings.
Wishing you a relaxing and enjoyable Valentines’ weekend.
Best Wishes,
Mrs Kirby
