Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Summer Term Week 1

Welcome back to the first week of what is going to be a busy and exciting summer term! We have certainly hit the ground running with lots of activities and events packed into our first week back.

During our joint Welcome Back Assembly on Tuesday, I was delighted to be able to make a direct link between our charity efforts last term and how the school and households within our community have offered to support Ukrainian families. It was also overwhelmingly positive to see the comments in the chat line that classes and individuals were looking forward to this term. We really do have a varied number of productions, activities, trips and sports fixtures to stimulate minds, and encourage skills and talents to flourish whilst allowing all to make progress in academic, creative, physical and pastoral areas. The whole child really is nurtured here.

Mrs Stevenson took a group of 48 Year 4, 5 & 6 pupils to perform in the Young Voices Choir at Wembley on Tuesday afternoon. It was a long day and a late night for all! The teachers, children and parents involved all thoroughly enjoyed the event. Mrs Stevenson said that the pupils behaved exceptionally well and enjoyed every minute. As always it makes us incredibly proud to hear what wonderful representatives of Claires Court our children are!

Mr Butterfield and Ms Hudson’s teams encouraged every athlete to challenge themselves in our first joint, whole school House Cross Country on Thursday. Once again; togetherness, encouragement, effort and accomplishments were all on display. A fantastic afternoon was had by all and it was so lovely to share the afternoon with all of you. Thank you to all of the spectators for inspiring such a positive competition. As always we were incredibly proud of our boys and girls

A special mention to Year 6 as they begin their last term with us. We know they are going to have a wonderful term to cement lifelong friendships, create special memories and move forward with confidence. Mr Pennington’s Forest School session on Tuesday perhaps showcased them and us at their best - lighting the fires of imagination in everyone.

Have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend

Best wishes

Mrs Kirby
