Mr Spanswick's Words Summer 3

I think with the sun shining and the boys in full academic, sporting and musical flow, some great pictures will tell much of our story this week. From watching and listening to brilliant readers, sharing in some of Year 6’s cricket practice, invading Mr Hogg’s Year 4 Maths quiz, and to watching our Under 9 cricketers enjoy a clean sweep against OPS, I have thoroughly enjoyed observing our school community blossom alongside our flowered gardens. Talking of this, Mrs Nott’s hard working gardening club is really taking off, as are Mrs Davies’ Wellness Walks at lunchtime.
A number of you have been asking me what exactly I will be doing next year in the role of Executive Headteacher - a question I find trickier to answer than you may think! Over the next few weeks I will explain how I hope to have an impact on the whole school as we move forward with new developments and challenges. In the meantime, I am just very much enjoying my last term as Head of the Junior Boys site and I am taking every opportunity on offer to spend time in the classrooms and on the sports’ fields with the boys!
For many of you the Bank Holiday brings an extra day (and it looks like the weather may behave!) and more time to spend with family and friends. For others, it means rugby tournaments at Brean Sands, end of season junior Football Cup finals, cricket tournaments and chess fixtures! I hope you all enjoy some relaxing time if possible and I look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday.
I've made a gallery of photos from the week which you can view here. Enjoy the pictures!
