Mrs Heywood's Words Lent 1

On behalf of all the staff, may I wish you a warm welcome back to school. I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year, it only seems like yesterday that we celebrated the end of term at our Christmas Carol Services. It was lovely to see students and parents along with staff at our two Senior Carol Services at St Luke’s on 15 December.
The congregation enjoyed music, readings, prayers and many carols with students from Years 7-13 and staff all fully involved. At both services, the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City was sung beautifully by student soloists, Lewis Gabb at the first service followed by Kate Jesseman at the second service. Special mention must also go to following readers and soloists who made the event so special, Elicia Mercer, Scarlett Bennett, Hannah Hickson, Hannah Senior, Felicity Kinsey and Molly Reeve-Stephens.
As ever the start of term is always brimming with activities and looking ahead this Saturday some of our Senior Girls have a busy afternoon at the Lions Club Swimarathon at Maidenhead Leisure Centre and on Monday morning the G11 have their Maths IGCSE, we wish them all good luck.
On Wednesday evening Mrs Rogers, Head of Year 12 and Helen Cole our External Careers Adviser, will be holding an information evening ‘Looking Beyond GCSE’ aimed at our Year 10 pupils and parents. We are very grateful for their expertise and look forward to the evening. Do please come along next week and find out more.
With best wishes for the weekend.
