Mrs Heywood's Words Summer 4

Our G8 Scientist enjoyed their day working in the University Laboratories at Queen Mary’s, University of London.

We were extremely delighted to hear the news that our G8 Science Team, Audrey, Louisa, Olivia and Scarlett, achieved a very credible second place in one of the two challenges at the Salters Festival. The girls were up against fifteen other schools and completed the day without the support of Mrs Williams Head of Science who accompanied the girls.

Year 10 have concluded their examinations and now await the return of papers with marks and feedback. Parents will get a chance to see their daughter’s exam scripts and please see this as an opportunity to congratulate them on their progress. Teachers in some subjects will already have been helping them reflecting on strengths and weaknesses and to see where they can improve.

Years 7 to 9 start their summer exams on Monday and we ask that you support them by ensuring they are in on time, are fully equipped, and are well fed and rested.

The last day before study leave is a special time for Year 11. Pupils, tutors and senior staff have worked hard and in collaboration with each other, to create a day with time to look back, to reminisce and to enjoy each other’s company. The day culminates in a Final Assembly, in the company of parents and the pupil body, when we present all Year 11s with a token to remember us by. Provided by our PTA, it is a silver heart necklace which symbolises the love and affection in which they have always been regarded, and the strong relationships between themselves.

It is also a time to look forward and to wish them well for the future.
