Mrs Heywood's Words Summer 8
Huge congratulations to Rachel who won the U15 LJ at the County Championships last weekend with a huge jump of 5.39m.
Rachael’s amazing jump smashed both the English Schools Qualification of 5.10m and the National Standards distance of 5.20m. Rachel now represents Berkshire in the English School Championships in July and we wish her the very best of luck!
Claires Court retained their ISA Regional Athletics winners trophy after a fine display of athletics last week. Winning 11 gold, 14 silver and 6 bronze medals at the event all girls should be extremely proud. Seven Senior Girls now progress further to the ISA National Finals next week and we hope to report back with more news of success next week!
Year 7 girls and boys came together last Friday to learn about the Medieval Period through role play, enactments, presentations and the chance to dress up - always a winning combination!
We are delighted that Dawn Kohn from The Autism Group will be visiting school next week to receive a cheque totalling an amazing amount of £ 2,152.85 raised by Senior Girls during charity week.
Year 7 were brilliant guides at our Open Morning on Tuesday - so confident and articulate.
On Wednesday we announced that Sophie Billing, Lauren Marwick and Isabelle Hobbs successfully made it through to the final stage of the appointments for Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl for 2018-19. This was after an intensive application process including letter of application, interview with Headteacher and a group problem solving activity. It was an extremely difficult task this year as the ten girls who applied were all of such a high calibre reflecting our school values at every stage of the process. Non-successful candidates have been strongly advised to put their name forward for one of the other senior prefect posts. The full list will be announced in due course.
I wish all the Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh pupils the best of luck for this weekend and G7 to 9 will be bring home their examination grade home tonight.
Hoping to see as many of you as possible at the Summer Fete next Saturday 23 June.
Have a lovely weekend.
