from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs Heywood's Words Lent 6

We were all delighted this week by the amazing talents of our pupils' magical and mesmerising performance at the Dance Show. Everything from the incredible toe-tapping musical and tear jerking performances!

We would like to thank the pupils for all their hard work over the last couple of months, our comperes - Annabelle Ruinet, Lana Wallis, all the staff behind the scenes, and particularly the hardworking Sports Department: Miss Cox, Miss Hudson and the rest of the PE Department for lighting the spark and getting them dancing.

G10 and G11 GCSE Drama students enjoyed the opportunity to watch a witty comedy about love and passion at the Theatre Royal Windsor at the weekend. Set on a luxury ocean liner steaming its way across the Atlantic, Turai and Gal try frantically to finish their play in time for the New York opening. The stylish deco set allowed for first-rate performances and add a lifeboat into the mix, with a tipsy steward and other storms at sea for this fast-moving screwball farce.

Our PTA committee remain active behind the scenes discussing future events and preparing clothes for the up and coming Nearly New Sale to be held on the afternoon of Tuesday 12 March under the covered area on the playground.

Good news from the library! We have a brand new Word Millionaire in G7, Imogen Edwards, and two new girls who have achieved their Bronze Accelerated Reading Book Point Star, Amber Landamore G7, and Betsy Saunders G8.

On return after half term, on Tuesday 26 February subject staff are looking forward to seeing the G11 pupils and parents. This gives us the perfect opportunity to discuss how we can work together to ensure the pupils get the best possible outcomes in the summer - how they can manage their workload, revision strategies and making use of the GCSE clinics available throughout the week.

Congratulations to Amelie Helm G8 and Eleanor Dries G9 who performed extremely well in the ISA Cross Country Competition and were great ambassador for the school.

Thank you for all of your help and support throughout this half-term and we wish you a wonderful break with your family.

“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well, just get up and dance, great dancers are great because of their passion.” Martha Graham
