Mrs Heywood's Words Lent 8

Year 9 girls and parents came along to our GCSE Information Evening and then had the opportunity to go to the Subject Fair and listen to our passionate teachers extol the wonderful world of their subject.
The Geography rooms are currently looking even more colourful than usual ... Year 7 were tasked with producing their own models as part of their rivers unit of work. How impressed we all are with the fantastic range of models, great ideas, packed with information about waterfalls, drainage systems and the water cycle. We do hope however that the rain clouds are kept at bay and that the weather is glorious for their trip to Rushall Farm on Monday.
On BBC Report Day a selected group of G8 pupils went into Maidenhead town centre to record Vox pops. The stories were then edited and uploaded onto the BBC and school website. Thank you to Y13 and Y12 students, Mrs Emily Bell, teacher of Sixth Form Media Studies, and Mrs Jakes.
We are looking forward to our Joint Senior and Sixth Form Concert on Monday evening to kick start next week where we have a vast array of musical items with over 100 performers taking part. We hope they will surprise and delight you in equal measure on the night.
A reminder that next Tuesday morning our sports teams are adorning their kits for their annual team photos and out PTA will be selling Second Hand Uniform between 3-5pm.
Congratulations to our U12 Hockey Squad who narrowly missed out on a place in the County Hockey Finals.
At 9.00am on Friday 15 March please join us at the annual PTA AGM at Junior Boys. We have such an extremely hardworking PTA across all divisions of the school who would value your support on this occasion.
So much more is going on next week, G8 are off to the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, G10 GCSE Geographers are off to Wales and our Drama students are competing in the ISA Drama Festival at Tring Performing Arts Centre.
We wish them all good luck for the weekend and week ahead.
