Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mr Richards' words Lent week 4

It was such a nice weekend. That beautiful blanket of snow lifted the spirits of the whole community and we were then treated to a sunny day on Monday. There are very few better days than a blanket of snow and bright sunshine, I hope you were able to enjoy it all.

I would like to congratulate all students, staff and parents who took part in the international 3K competition organised by Ms Gutteridge. Claires Court currently sits third in the league table and are inching closer to second place. Well done to all.

This week’s assembly focused on the ups and downs of the current situation. This was prompted by watching the emotional roller coaster my own children went on before, during and after the snow. The levels of excitement when it started coming down was soon followed by the crash when it started melting. The message of the assembly was to recognise and enjoy the highs, but not get carried away with them, while recognising and learning from the lows, though conscious to not being consumed by them.

This coming Monday morning, we will be welcoming Mr Wareing to deliver a debate-themed assembly on Modern Art. He will also be launching our album art recreation competition. This challenge will be shared with the entire Claires Court community and we hope it will be a chance for families to work together on something and for you to tell your young people how cool you used to be (or still are). Full details can be found here. Each entry will earn house points and there will be prizes for the top-three entries. Just to note – the Senior Girls’ staff male quartet Queen album will take some beating!
