Mr Richards' words Lent week 10

As I wandered around the site at 3.30pm this afternoon, I felt very proud to be a headteacher here. You know you have a great school when all the young people are focused and working hard a week and a half before the end of term on a mufti day! It has been lovely to receive all of your positive messages of support and encouragement since we have been back. Whilst we are working hard to ensure that Claires Court is the best in the land, we do appreciate your kind words, thank you.
Mrs Ruddick treated us to an inspirational assembly to mark International Women’s last week. She took us through the inspiring figures cited by both students and staff and reminded the student body to strive for something greater. It was great to see our empowered young women talking about these icons, past and present. It is our aim to help our students achieve their educational and career goals, so that they can be leading lights in the future to build a better future.
We love a mufti day here. It is a very easy way to raise some money for good local and international causes. The £2 contributed today will go to Comic Relief and our Gambian charity project. Please watch this short clip of our recent Gambia trip, it is a joyous reminder of the motivation behind our mufti day today. Whilst primary education in The Gambia is available for free, that offer does not include school buildings or transport. Our financial support covers both development costs and individual child finding. Of the 64 children in the Gambian school we support, 30 are still in need of sponsorship - you can find the direct payment link to the Gambia on the Parent Portal if you’d be willing to contribute directly. Thank you very much.
