Mr Richards' words Autumn week 1

I would like to welcome everybody back to what we hope will be a 'normal' and full school year. I should start by congratulating our wonderful Year 11 students who received outstanding results this August.
We all met together for the first time in 18 months on Thursday morning and entered the hall to 'Enjoy Yourself (it is later than you think)' by the Specials. We discussed setting personal goals for the year(s) ahead. We listened to Ellie Robinson's inspirational speech at the Paralympics and saw what courage looks like when the 8 year old took on the 60m ski jump.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new staff. Sarah Austin Smith and Annabelle Foster who replace Ms Robinson and Ms Lattimer following their retirements this summer. Susan Honiball will replace Ms Scott who has gone on to be a full time foster mother and Marina Fernandes and Chelsea Reeves have arrived to strengthen the Spanish and PE departments. We would like to congratulate Ms Barker, who is expecting her second child this term and welcome Mr Paul Scales, who arrives as her maternity cover. Finally, we should give special mentions to established staff, Ms Teasdale and Ms Ericson who have now joined us full time in the Science department.
There is renewed sense of progress this term already and we are all looking forward to what the future will bring in our Claires Court Family.
