Mr Richards' words Autumn week 2
It is lovely to have everybody back into what already feels like a normal school term. As always, the full time return of the students is accompanied by an improvement in the weather.
I know Covid will put bumps in the road this year and we will continue to be careful, but it is nice to be back. If you have any Covid questions or concerns; here is the guidance we are complying with and we will always be available to answer any questions.
We have missed you all, so we have been focused on bringing the community back together. Ms O’Clee, Mr Gravett, RSM Larkin and I gave the cadets their first taste of CCF exercise last weekend. It was a great trip and I would like to say thank you so much to all the students who showed grit and determination all weekend; they got on with everything we threw at them - even when Mr Gravett played the Reveille at 0600 to wake them up! Year 7 also had a great day at Cliveden, learning about our local History and coming together as a year group.
The Senior girls will notice more younger students around the site this week as we welcome external Year 5/6 students for their discovery days. We will focus on inspirational women in the Special Operations Executive during WW2 and have some fun in Science, Drama, History and Mathematics.
It was lovely to see the parents back on site this week too. We did our best to give the parents of Year 7 tips for coping with the ups and downs of the teenage years and Year 8 parents had their first opportunity to meet and talk to staff in real life.
Our biggest and best opportunity to come together will be the fireworks display on 9 October at Ridgeway, further details to follow. I will look forward to meeting you all and enjoying being back together as part of the #clairescourtfamily.
Finally, thank you for ensuring all students have the correct uniform despite supply chain issues and shortages; it is much appreciated. I will be out front of school every day (morning and afternoon) if you wish to catch me for a quick question and I will always make time if you need a little longer.
