Mr Richards' words Autumn week 4
I would like to welcome back the students who have had to isolate and congratulate them for the efforts they made to access their online learning during this time. We will continue to keep the learning experience as smooth as possible for those forced to stay at home.
Year 11 students have been working very hard in their first week of examinations. We should not forget that their last year of normal schooling was Year 8. We will soon hear how the Department for Education will adapt their summer series of exams but we have been very proud of the way the students have got into the hall and got on with the assessments. There will be a considerable amount of hard work between now and next May, but we will get through it together.
Year 8 have had two Girls on Board sessions this week as we continue to work hard on ensuring group dynamics work effectively. We are excited about welcoming Andrew Hampton to our Girls on Board conference next week, where Claires Court continues to be at the forefront of this approach that helps girls navigate the choppy waters of friendship. Andrew is going to stay after school with Mr Spanswick to deliver the healthy relationships workshop to the whole senior school, in person, 6pm at Senior Boys.
We are looking forward to the Fireworks event on Saturday 9 October at Junior Boys. This will be the first chance for us to catch up and enjoy a BBQ and a drink together as a community. Please bring the family and enjoy the evening whilst supporting the PTA who then fund the extra things at school. We are delighted that they have supported the CCF with some really exciting bits of kit, be sure to pop along to play their human fruit machine. We have invested in wildlife and pet friendly fireworks this year, so we will have to add our own sound effects with the ooooohs and aaaaahhhhhs.
Please enjoy the weekend
