Mr Wilding's words Lent week 1

Our first wishes for 2022;
That Corona is a beer again.
That bubbles can only be found in champagne.
That positive is just positive again.
That isolation is only for the cavity walls.
That face masks are only for dusty sawing.
That cotton swabs only go into the ears.
That we can sneeze and cough again.
May we see and hug each other again.
But above all that we can stay healthy.
Congratulations to Josh N-B, Josh B P, Jack H, Max B, Piers B, Toby C, Toby W and Nate K for participating as the Senior Boys team in the Lions International Swimarathon last Sunday, raising funds for The Link Foundation, a Maidenhead & Marlow based Children's Charity committed to improving the lives of children and their families in the local community and surrounding areas. They were one of five Claires Court teams involved; One of the traditions of the Swimarathon is that Theresa May picks five teams at random from all the entered teams throughout the day and the lucky recipients then receive a bonus £200 to give to their chosen charity. Claires Court received one of these bonus cheques!
Your son(s) may have reported back to you just how pleased we are that everyone of the 300+ Lateral Flow tests conducted by the boys in school tested negative on Tuesday, matched by Senior Girls and Sixth Form. This is a great reflection on the positive care and attention you as parents have given to maintaining a safe environment at home, so well done you. I have huge sympathy for Miss Sherpa, trapped by UAE rules on PCR testing, whom we should be able to welcome back to school on Monday.
And finally, as Claires Court’s central bus station at Senior Boys, I am acutely aware that we hope to get our buses promptly off at the end of the day, and we will continue to try our best to ensure this happens. You’ll know there is an acute shortage of bus drivers just now, so keeping the Countrywide drivers healthy is key. Masks must be worn on the transport services to keep winter colds, flu and other germs away, not just the C-19 variety. Thank you for your help in this regard.
With all the best for the weekend.
