Mr Wilding's Words Summer Week 6

Returning from the Jubilee weekend was so refreshing, in many ways a cleansing experience for us all, being a genuine celebration of not just our monarch’s reign, but the sheer breadth, diversity and talent to be seen in our country.
My lead theme at the assembly on Monday was to strike forward, strong in the knowledge that we have everything to strive for, and nothing to hold us back.
Our athletes clearly had that in mind when they took a leading part in the ISA London West area event on Wednesday, particular mention going to winners Toby W (U12 High Jump and 1500m), Jack H (Discus), Oscar H (Long Jump), Finn K (Discus) and Luca B (High Jump) though in truth so many others had such exceptional performances in the day winning silver and bronze medals as well.
I am delighted that I have a strong group of Year 9 boys ready to take up the challenge of research into higher level projects, a GCSE qualification arising from a project rather than an exam, and they are due to have their first session with me next Monday lunchtime - last minute sign-up via this form - http://schl.cc/ez
Over the past and next few days we have some additional in-school photography taking place to update our school prospectus images, and for those to be involved, the school office will be making contact to ensure the boys are looking their best for the day. Monday sees us with some specialist artists (B7), model-builders (B9) and B10 & A level Technologists.
Finally, I would like to wish all 11 candidates for Head Boy good luck in their interviews ahead in the near future and best wishes to the members of our CCF off to get trained on the Cadet General Purpose rifle on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!
