Head's Words Lent Term Week 9

Last night was a very successful Year 12 Parents' Evening, and it is important that the students act on the advice given by their teachers.
We are looking forward to seeing Year 13 parents and students next Thursday.
Year 12 listened to an informative presentation on the variety and range of apprenticeships available in business, technology, sport, the media, engineering, accountancy and many more this morning. Mrs Cole has a wide experience to share with out students and Mrs Rogers will pass on the full presentation to all students so they can explore the myriad of opportunities available via the hyperlink. The level 4, degree level, apprenticeships will be of particular interest. This talk gave the students the chance to consider what they might wish to do at the end of Year 13 if they are not interested in going to university.
On the other hand the trip on Monday to the University of Surrey gives all students the opportunity to talk to university representatives. This weekend all Year 12 students should go on to the UCAS website and use 'course search' to identify courses and universities they want to speak to. They may wear casual but neat clothes and should bring snacks and water for the day as it may not be easy to buy these on the campus.
