Heads of Sixth Form Lent 3
Local businessman and entrepreneur, Christopher Ward, came to speak to the Sixth Form this week. His business, which sells exclusive watches and accessories, is now 13 years old and has a £11million turnover. He now has offices in the UK, USA, China and Switzerland and his latest deal is with the new aircraft carrier, HMS Elizabeth.
Academic mentoring of Year 12 and Year 13 is currently going ahead. The students are very engaged with this process and the sessions are proving to be very productive. Students are using the strategies from their reports which should lead to improved grades, both in the mock exams in February and their summer exams. On a lighter note, in tutor time over the coming weeks, students are taking part in weekly subject quizzes. Media and IT have been our first two subjects, fostering a healthy degree of competition among the tutor groups! The weekly quizzes will culminate in a Grand Final for the three groups with the highest overall scores.
