Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Head of Sixth Form Summer 3

While so many schools are putting the squeeze on creative and performance based subjects, Claires Court continues to encourage students to develop and explore their myriad skills in arts based courses. Year 13 students have been focused on their A level exam work over the past few weeks and the standard and diversity of work produced is quite stunning.  Practical Drama and PE moderations are complete and Media coursework is a wrap! Photographers, artists and textiles students have brought their ideas to life in unique and original ways, with installations, canvases, stained glass, etchings, fabric, wood and paper. Later this term their work will be exhibited and I would encourage you to come and appreciate its variety and quality.

The mood around the Sixth Form is highly industrious as the Year 13s complete their preparations for external exams and Year 12 are underway with revision for their internal summer exams which commence on Monday 10 June. This will result in the predicted grades I will use to support UCAS, apprenticeship and employment applications going forward. Time flies here in the Sixth Form as students enjoy testing themselves against academic challenges, insisting on aiming high in everything they undertake. It is a privilege to watch them continue to master their subjects and develop confidence and competence.
