Mrs Roger's words Autumn week 2

Every teacher is driven by three things - the love of learning, a commitment to their learners and ultimately, the ambition to bring these two loves together. And that is what I have witnessed in every Sixth Form work space this week. The buzz of teachers and their students discussing subject based topics, asking each other questions and thriving in a dynamic learning environment.
Year 12s are settling happily into their new environment and responding positively to the expectation that they take ever increasing responsibility for their own learning. They are enjoying fresh opportunities in enrichment activities and additional games options, developing new friendships and contributing to our thriving community and becoming more independent. And thank you for communicating how much your son or daughter is enjoying their studies and their new experience in the Sixth Form.
Year 13s have returned with a mature and focused attitude, continuing to complete their UCAS applications, brushing up and adding summer work experience details to their personal statements and preparing for next week’s internal exams. The next nine months leading up to their terminal exams will fly by and they are encouraged to make the most of all the opportunities available to them. Some are attending budgeting workshops, others are improving their cooking, all in preparation for life beyond the Sixth Form. Of course, they could do extra practice at home too!
Enjoy the weekend.
