Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs Rogers' words Lent week 1

Celebrations are complete with Christmas and New Year festivities now firmly in the rear view mirror. Or so I thought - but six of my finest students have had me celebrating all over again this week!

Apart from last year, (for obvious reasons), Sixth Form students have entered the Lions Club Swimarathon for as long as I can remember, raising funds for the Lions and also for the causes we support. This year, the 37th Swimarathon, Jonny, James S, Marcus, Matt, Seb and James C brought new meaning to our philosophy of ‘making a difference’. Not only did they swim their hearts out, support and encourage each other and keep smiling despite the burning sensation in their lungs, but they have been sponsored and continue to be sponsored, for their efforts. If you would like to make a donation you can use this link to our JustGiving page.

Jonny was interviewed on poolside, highlighting the importance of supporting the Lions as well as the school children in Brufut, The Gambia. We are helping a number of junior age children continue their education there which will ultimately facilitate greater opportunities to find their purpose and place, whilst taking care of their families too.

I am confident there will be plenty more to celebrate this term as we resume our academic work, sports fixtures and enrichment programme, so watch this space. In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend and I trust 2022 will be an amazing year for you and your family.
