The school nurses Jane Webster and Kerry Duff provided a three hour interactive first aid session, covering how to perform CPR on adults, children and babies, how to use a defibrillator, and how to place a patient in the recovery position. The nurses also talked about sports and head injuries and led a quiz about common childhood illnesses. The evening finished with a question and answer session.

Kerry Duff, Junior Boys nurse, said:

“It was a hands on experience with a glass of fizz of course! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and many said they really appreciated the opportunity to learn a new skill and that they now felt more confident about what to do in emergency situations.”
