Excitement Builds for Gambia Trip

With fundraising well under way, our spirited Sixth Form students are excited as their ten day adventure draws ever closer.
In just over three weeks time fifteen students from Years 12 and 13 will be heading to the Brufut area of The Gambia to see how their fundraising efforts from the past year has helped the community. The School has been supporting the works of ‘Charity Pearl The Gambia’ to make substantial improvements to day to day life, which include the building of an education centre and a computer lab.
Students will spend time working in the education centre running activities which range from cookery classes, to football coaching, to painting and dying workshops.
Emily Bell, Sixth Form Media teacher, commented:
“Our students will be working with 4 to 6 year olds to share their expertise and different cultural experiences.”
