Head's Words Lent Term Week 9

The nursery children have enjoyed the topic on “our homes” and have created models of their own using boxes and card as well as making homes out of straw (“The 3 Little Pigs“ story which they acted out), igloos out of maize packaging and homes using sheets over the tables and foam bricks which they could play in.
It has been a week of discovery. Life is in our pond again and seeing frogs, newts and spawn means that the life cycles are starting afresh.
Transition children have talked about “my family” and carried out a survey to discover the biggest number of people living in their home. Each child made pictures of their family and stuck these onto a tree picture to create their own “family tree”.
During the week commencing 14th March the nursery children will be learning about Easter, the colour pink, the numbers 9-10 and the letter r. (I wonder if rabbits will feature in their activities?). Any small toys incorporating these would be ideal as their “Show and Tell” item this week. Transition children will be learning about Easter and the letters v,w.
Please accept my very many thanks for buying all the raffle tickets for the “3 for 3” charities. We will draw the winning ticket during our EYFS assembly today and I will let you know the winner and how much the Department has raised in my next Bulletin notes.
Reminders
Cold Cookery on Wednesday afternoon we see us making fruit crumbles using yoghurt, fruit puree and digestive biscuits.
