Mrs Wilding's Words Autumn 9

Thank you to our PTA!
What excitement was seen and heard when the children went into the playground this week and discovered six new “piggy back trikes”. These allow twelve children to take turns pedalling or travelling on the rear platform, developing both their social and physical skills. Our generous PTA regularly gives the Nursery Department exciting toys and equipment so my thanks go to them for all their efforts in fund raising. My thanks also go to Stewart and Tony, our Maintenance staff, for assembling these.
This week and next
The nursery rooms have been having fun learning about birds, have created some very colourful and feathery parrots, and have been on autumn walks collecting leaves to make leaf wreaths.
The week commencing 20 November the 3 nursery classes will discuss and listen to stories and information about “Asian animals” and do a range of related crafts. Their number is 9, the colour is orange and the letter is t.
Transition children have talked about the produce we get from animals, the names of meats, which meats the children eat and whether they are vegetarian. They have looked at and felt wool. The children matched animals and produce pictures and managed to do 1 to 10 dot-to-dot pictures of animals.
Their letter of the week, 20 November, is d and they will be exploring the topic related to “Pets”.
Children in Need
A big thank you to all our parents - we raised a total of £57.60 for today's Children in Need.
Reminders and Advance Notice
Please return your seating requests and your child’s costume for the Nursery Christmas Production as soon as possible.
Preparing your child for primary school is an exciting, but busy, time for parents. An important part of your plans should be checking that your child is up-to-date with their immunisations. Please visit www.nhs.uk/vaccinations for more information.
Requests
With Christmas rapidly approaching any cardboard tubes from rolls of wrapping paper will be gratefully received as during the year we do a range of craft activities for which these are ideal.
