Head's Words Summer Term Week 4

Sunflower and cress seeds have been sown and the nursery classes have been talking about the life cycle of a plant. Linking with the number 3 this week the children have made triangular sandwiches with wholemeal bread (brown week) and jam which they spooned, spread and cut very well and the majority of the children thoroughly enjoyed eating them during snack time.
Transition children have continued their topic on planting and growing by talking about the life cycle of a plant and sowing cress seeds in the shape of their initials. They have made beautiful flowers out of paper plates.
The week commencing 9th May the nursery children will continue learning about planting and growing, the colour purple, the number 4 and the letter v.
Any small toys incorporating a plant/flower and purple would be ideal as their “Show and Tell” item this week. Transition children will be learning about weather and the letter j.
