Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs Wilding's Weekly Words Lent 2

For some children this has been their first week attending a nursery but you would not know it as they have settled so incredibly well! We have been learning about the colour red and the number one; and have made red playdough, mixed red into different concoctions and have used the colour in a variety of ways, including using red materials to create a collage on pictures of the number one.

Transition children have been learning about themselves this week and have created some wonderful self-portraits. They have sequenced age related pictures of babies through to the elderly; have talked about blood and it flows through our veins and arteries, and have looked at x-rays to learn about the different bones in the human body.

The week commencing Monday 20 January, the Nursery children will be learning about 'me', skin tone colours, the number 2 and the letter d. Any small toys incorporating any of these would be ideal as their 'show and tell' item this week. Transition children will be learning about 'my family' and the letter n. Please note that Transition children only bring in topic related items for their 'show and tell' so if you want to send in family photos, Miss Green would welcome these.

The Wednesday afternoon cold cookery activity will be making bread rolls. We will use packets of bread mix to make these.

Reminders

Please ensure that your child wears the Nursery uniform of the Claires Court grey t-shirt and burgundy jumper.
