Mrs Kirby's words Lent week 10

From Mrs Ainsley

Thank you to everyone who dressed up, wore their noses and donated money. The Busy Bees class drew their own funny faces.

Yesterday, I was drawn to the hypnotic noise of Irish music and children’s laughter. When I made my way to the hall, Mrs Freeman, Mrs Williamson, Miss Levi and the class were all engaging in some Irish dancing. The children had also been discussing the legends of gold at the end of the rainbow and Irish charms.

Our topic this week was about looking after our planet. We discussed the job of our refuse collectors and this sparked many activities. The children learnt the rule of reduce, reuse, recycle and how we all can manage to do this. Although young, our children are very aware of the effects of our actions with regards to rubbish and the damage it is causing. We tried to show them this week the simple ways in which we can all make an impact.

Spring has definitely sprung in Nursery this week. We discovered frogspawn in the pond which the children have been fascinated by. The seeds which Mrs Pemberton planted have grown in the warmth of the sunshine and I think from the beautiful singing from one of our girls.

Next week…

Topic = Easter

Number = 10

Colour = yellow

Reminders

  • Please check your inbox/spam/junk for your email from 2Simple/Evidence me. Scroll down and accept and then you’ll be able to receive your child’s observations when they are ready to be sent.

  • The children are now provided with a morning snack of fruit or vegetables so there is no need to send anything in.

Have a lovely weekend.
