Nursery's words summer week 6

Since the beginning of term the children have been looking forward to their trip up to the Junior Boys’ site. So with wellies and puddle suits packed, we were ready for an adventure.
The children arrived first thing and made their way up to the mezzanine where their teachers were waiting for them and they were able to play for a little while. Once they were all in, we made our way up to the Reception classroom and got into our puddle suits and wellies. We were ready to go!
Mr P, our Forest School specialist introduced himself and explained where we were and what we were going to do. We then went into the wooded area to look for fairy and pixie houses and make some of our own.
The favourite part of the morning was watching Mr P create a fire and then discovering that the fairies and pixies had left a bag of marshmallows and biscuits hanging on a tree to say thank you. The children toasted their own marshmallows and made a smore. It was so yummy!
We then went exploring, looking for bugs, different types of plants and enjoying the large open space.
Soon our tummies were starting to rumble again so we made our way back up to the Reception classroom where Miss Wilding had organised for the children to make fruit kebabs. These were thoroughly enjoyed and were a lovely end to a wonderful morning.
