Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Nursery's words Autumn week 8

This week the children have been looking at reflection and this has been taught through a variety of areas including maths, expressive art and design and communication and language. The Early Years Foundation Curriculum is brilliant for enabling topics, objectives and activities to blend and cross over and for the children to have deep and enriched experiences.

Forest School continues to be an exciting and evolving adventure. The first couple of weeks, the children were getting used to being outside for the morning in all sorts of weather and learning to be resilient, curious and confident learners. In their most recent lessons, the classes explored natural art by using what they could find to make firework pictures.

Today, the Nursery children watched the beautiful video Poppies, explaining in a child-friendly way the meaning of the poppy on November 11th. We then joined the rest of the school to take part in the 2 minutes silence to remember all the fallen heroes, including those who had been part of our Claires Court community. Like me, you would have been very proud of your children and impressed with how they adapt to a variety of situations they are put in.

Please see the link here for a note on the ex-students who fell in the conflict.

We look forward to next week and more exciting opportunities.

Have a lovely weekend.
