Nursery Words Summer Week 7

Our topic on minibeasts started this week and the children have been using various media to create an array of bugs.

They have learnt what the various groups of minibeasts are called and recalling what their features are. They have then taken this knowledge outside to do some bug hunting of their own.

At Forest School this week, the children marvelled at all the fun ways a stick/branch could be used. They did exercise with them and they used their imagination to pretend it was something else; a unicorn’s horn, a shark’s fin, an oar and many other things. Lastly the children created sounds by using the stick as a beater or a scraper to create sounds on natural objects.

The two year olds have also enjoyed the sunshine this week. They have been outside a lot; playing with water and sand, climbing and whizzing around on the wheeled toys.

Reminders

Please put sunscreen on your child before coming to school and if they stay all day we will reapply at lunchtime. They also need a hat every day.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Nursery Team.
