Mrs Wilding's Words Lent 2

With all the ‘flu like symptons in both staff and children I am glad that this week is coming to an end!
The theme “life in space” has been a great start to our “space” topic this term in the nursery rooms. A variety of activities happened such as creating life sized astronauts (aka Mrs Duxbury and Vidhi!) and clay alien models. The children have looked at related pictures on the iPads and in books, have listened to stories and pretended to move as if on the moon.
Transition children have looked at the planet Earth, created chalk pictures of this wonderful world and made black playdough to represent space. They were so glad to welcome back their teachers who had all been laid low.
The week commencing 16 January the nursery children will be learning about life in space, the colour purple, the number 2 and the letter p. Any small toys incorporating astronauts or aliens and purple would be ideal as their “Show and Tell” item this week. Transition children will be learning about the sun and the letter n.
The playground activities for the week will involve hoops and beanbags.
The Wednesday afternoon cold cookery activity will be bread rolls making.
