Mrs Wilding's Words Lent 4
The nursery rooms have been learning about travel in space and have created rockets of varying sizes, have conducted experiments to make their rockets fly (some more successful than others!) and played with a variety of space craft. Lots of language has been extended and their imaginations have taken off! You can see the video of the rocket launch here.
Transition children have been talking about the moon, how it appears, its phases and they have made a giant moon for the display board using a variety of materials to create a textured surface. They watched some film of the first landing on the moon and have had enormous fun playing in the former home corner which has become “Space”!
During the week commencing 30 January the nursery children will continue learning about space travel, the colour red, the number 4 and the letter r. Any small toys incorporating red would be ideal as their “Show and Tell” item this week. Transition children will be learning about other planets and the letter j. We are all looking forward to celebrating Chinese New Year, the year of the rooster.
The playground activities for the week will include wheeled toys.
The Cold Cookery activity on Wednesday afternoon will be making pasta salads and the following ingredients will be used:- pasta, cucumber, tomatoes, sweetcorn and tuna.
- The session sheets for the summer term commencing Wednesday 19 April have been sent home so please return these as soon as possible. Having returned them if you do not hear from me you can assume that you have got the sessions requested.
- Parents sometimes ask us about packed lunches so for your information we have sent home the NHS “Healthy Lunch Boxes” leaflet but always ask us if you require information.
