Reuben’s Fight
On Wednesday 22 February the Nursery Department are planning a cake sale to raise funds for Reuben so if you would like to donate a cake please bring in on Tuesday so that we can sell them to our parents at drop off and pick up times the following day. Please avoid any nut related products and if home-made please list the ingredients to avoid issues with allergies. Many thanks for your support.

This Week
The nursery rooms have talked about differences and similarities of planets, adding 2D and 3D versions they have made to their space displays. Transition children were learning about rockets and shuttles, how these get to space and what they do when there. They have made clay aliens, space shuttles and cards.

We have had some lovely conversations about who we love and I hope that you adore the Valentine cards all the children have made for you.

The second half of this term will be a change of topic and the children will be learning about shapes and colours. During the week commencing 20 February the nursery children will be learning about “shapes with lines”, the colour blue, the number 6 and the letter t. Any small toys incorporating blue would be ideal as their “Show and Tell” item this week. Transition children will be learning about “shapes and sizes”, the colour red and the letter c.

We wish everybody a very happy half term holiday and look forward to seeing everyone rested and ready for the start of spring.

Reminders

  • The Cold Cookery activity on Wednesday afternoon will be pitta bread pizza and we will use pitta breads, grated cheese, tomato puree and mushrooms.
  • Please check the labels in your child’s uniform as several named jumpers have gone missing and return as soon as possible.
  • Please return any borrowed nursery clothing as soon as possible as we seem to be running low on the spares we hold for children who need a change during the session. If your children have outgrown socks, underwear and trousers / leggings these are always welcomed.
  • Check your email as the “2build a profile” observations of your child for this half term have been sent to you. We appreciate acknowledgement of receipt and any comments about your child.

Lost
Alice in Busy Bees has lost her sheepskin gloves so please check your child’s bag in case they have been put in by mistake.
