Head's Words Lent Term Week 9

This week we have enjoyed Inter-house Cross country and many other curriculum delights including learning about Careers for National Careers Week.
Year 2 learned about obscure jobs around the world; water slide tester, pet food tester, baby ostrich sitter! The girls wrote poems about what they would like to be when they are older. Here are 2 examples:
I want to be a gymnast,
I’ll have to work hard.
I’ll go to the Olympics,
And I’ll be a super star!
Olivia, Year 2
When I grow up I’m going to be a vet,
I’ll have to learn a lot of science.
To make sure everyone has a healthy pet,
And use a lot of reliance.
Chloe, Year 2.
On Tuesday evening, we were entertained by the girls and boys from Year 5 & 6 plus the Year 3 & 4s in the Ensemble and Choir. The Joint Junior Concert had a Pixar theme and it was truly magical. The talent was superb and, once again, the children sparked all sorts of emotions in us, the audience. A special thanks to Mr Rowan and Miss Goodsell for their efforts and creativity in producing such a wonderful evening.
Tomorrow sees a Karate tournament at Junior Boys if you would like to go along to get a feel for the sport. We will be offering Karate from September.
Also, good luck to all of the Judo competitors this Sunday. We have a lot of girls competing!
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
