Miss Barlow's Weekly Words Lent 1

Happy New Year and welcome back to a new year, a new term and a new start.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year break and that time was spent with family and friends. The term has started well with all girls coming back with New Year's resolutions galore, fantastic enthusiasm and a spring in their step.
We have much to look forward to this term, including new topics. Over the Christmas holidays, Year 5 were sent a pack and the notification that World War II had broken out. The girls were seen wearing the name tags today, something which they must wear at all times. Year 3's classroom has transformed into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory ready for their 'From Bean to Bar' topic whilst a Castle now stands in Year 2 in preparation for the girls' learning of Castles and Knights! The Time Travelling Tardis has appeared in Year 1 ready for the girls to travel back in time and Year 6 started their study of Skellig; one of the texts they will study as part of their 'The Unexplained'. Year 4 are ready to search for Tombs, Temples and Treasures and Reception are very much looking forward to learning all about Fairytales as part of the 'Once Upon a Time' topic.
Merit certificates will start next week and today the newly transformed 'Flopsy' was re-introduced to the girls after a magnificent stay at the Pridham Spa over the holidays!
Have wonderful weekend.
