Miss Barlow's Weekly Words Lent 5

Once upon a time, in a magical land called SL6, lived wonderfully charismatic and energetic girls who dressed in tartan and wore berets...
This week has been National Story Telling Week! The girls have fully engaged with many activities including creating stories and retelling them to other classes; the Reading Ambassadors were tasked with the job of awarding prizes during breaktimes; Mrs Copeman, our fabulous Librarian, has told stories to every class - Winnie-the-Pooh to Lower Juniors, and stories from Helen Dennis to Upper Juniors; and many parents have visited classes to retell their favourite story. Thank you to everyone who visited.
Our Junior Girls' and Boys' choirs joined forces yesterday to represent Claires Court at the Young Voices event at the O2. The pupils were incredible ambassadors for their school and showed talent and enthusiasm. Thank you to Mrs Stevenson and Mr Rowan for leading the trip, and to Mrs Wardman, Mr Denton and Mrs King for supporting this incredibly successful event.
Next week we are looking forward to welcoming many of you to our second round of Parental Workshops, including talks on The Use of Social Media, How to Support your Resilient Daughter, Supporting Reading at Home and The Progression of Calculations. This evening falls on Safer Internet Day which will also see classes learning about how to remain safe when on the internet.
I hope you all have an enjoyable and restful weekend.
