Miss Barlow's Weekly Words Lent 11
Everyday this week has hosted something special...
... and Tuesday brought us something exceptional!
But first Monday -
I had a visitor in the shape on Mr Wilding's son's dog - Terrance. Terrance visited us for the first time but hopefully not the last. He and hopefully other doggy pals will visit as part of a Reading to Dog initiative which we hope to emBARK on!
On Tuesday -
The girls and boys from Years 4-6 performed in our bi-annual Joint Junior Concert and it was simply beautiful. It was both moving and entertaining, and the pupils' talent was inspiring. I sat in the audience in awe of our performers and felt incredibly proud to be a part of something so special. Mrs Stevenson and Mr Rowan really make a fantastic team; their talent and passion is clearly visible in the children.
On Wednesday -
Year 3 had the pleasure of welcoming the Chocolate Workshop to school. The girls designed and made their own chocolate lollies!
On the subject of sweet things, Reception made Gingerbread men. The naughty Gingerbread men came to life, ran into the classroom and ate the girls' creations! This was all caught on camera; the action can be found here and here.
On Thursday -
It was brought to my attention that Year 5 raised £820 during Charity Week; an amazing achievement. However, this ambitious group of girls want more! They have set themselves a target of £1000 and, on Thursday, the girls presented two ideas to me; an Easter Tombola and an Egg Design competition - of course I said yes!
Also on Thursday, our 2 dance groups performed a dance for their families in the hall. The first group's (girls from Reception and Year 1) dance was to Moana and the second (girls from Year 2-6) was to Bruno Mars' 'Perm'. Well done to everyone involved and thank you to Victoria for her teaching over the term.
I also had the pleasure of joining Year 4 for their Egyptian Party. The girls did want to wrap me up like an Egyptian but unfortunately they had to settle for Miss Hudson!
On Friday -
Our Homework Exhibition was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came to see the girls' hard work and creativity!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Next week, we look forward to the Year 3 concert on Monday and our End of Term assembly, rounding up another successful term!
Can I please remind you that on our last day Tuesday 27 March the Junior Girls can be collected from 12noon in the Playground.
