Head's Words Summer Term Week 5

In a week where many Year 6s all over the country have been sitting SATs (ones which even teachers cannot understand!), our Year 6 class visited the British Museum for a day of Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greece and an altogether day of culture.
The girls represented Claires Court with exemplary behaviour and manners. The girls were enthusiastic about the exhibits and demonstrated fantastic knowledge about the topics they had learned about. The way to extend and challenge learning is not through over testing or answering questions about subordinating conjunctions (!), but through experiencing, experimenting, thinking at a deeper level and inquiry. Learning is also about getting it wrong, improving next time and critically reflective.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and see some of you at the Summer Ball!
