Miss Barlow's Weekly Words Summer 6
Problems! Problems! Problems! (and solutions - don't worry!)
This week has been Problem Solving Week but before we begun the week, we had the Royal Wedding to celebrate and Years 3 & 4 had their Outward Bound to enjoy last Friday. Reception acted out the Royal Wedding and we even had a three tiered lemon cake! Years 5 and 6 celebrated the day with many exciting activities, and ended with a wedding dress competition (votes can be cast on twitter!)
Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a day of Outward Bound activities including Den Building, Orienteering, Sailing and Team Building activities.
During this week, every class has enjoyed Problem Solving Week. They have all immersed themselves in finding solutions to a variety of problems, including riddles, globetrotting trails, obstacle courses, mini beast mysteries, bee-bot mazes, leap-frog maths problems and many classes joined together including Year 6 and Reception.
It has been a hugely successful week which also included our annual Swimming Gala for Upper Juniors. The girls all competed exceptionally well, showing much skill and endurance and well as collaboration and encouragement of each other. Well done to all who competed and congratulations to the winning house - St Ignatius.
I hope you have a wonderful half term break and I look forward to welcoming you all back in a week's time to start the last half term of the academic year.
